Recliners.LA Opens a Wellness Chair Studio in All Stores

In recent years, scientific research has solidified the link between recliner chairs and improved back health. Because reclining reduces the uneven distribution of body weight and pressure caused by standing and sitting up straight, back muscles, tendons, and the spine are able to relax more completely. Therefore, in a sense, all recliners are “wellness chairs” to a certain extent. That being said, also carries a number of chairs that are designed to respond to specific wellness needs. You can see our full array of wellness chairs (in addition to all of our conventional recliners and sofas) in our online gallery; however, our Los Angeles area customers now have the option of stopping by any of our locations in southern California to see our wellness chair studios.

Here is a brief run-down of some of the most important types of wellness chairs.

  • Lift Chairs. Lift chairs can make a big difference for people with back, hip, or leg problems that make sitting down and standing up difficult. These chairs include an electronic feature that allows them to lean forward in order to make sitting and standing much easier on the joints and muscles.
  • Massage chairs. Massages have a number of health benefits--from lowering stress and blood pressure to reducing the risk of muscular injury. Unfortunately, getting professional massages can be both costly and inconvenient. Massage chairs allow you to experience many of the same benefits from the comfort of your own home!
  • Office chairs. Though office chairs might not be the first thing to come to mind when you think of wellness chairs, the truth is that many of us spend many hours in the office--and using an ergonomic chair can help reduce the stress that this places on the back.
