Did you know that your sense of smell can trigger emotions? It’s true! In fact the olfactory system, or sense of smell is the strongest of the five senses. It has been proven that smells can trigger memories just like the scent of your grandmother’s homemade cookies.

Aromatherapy is an ancient practice that involves using oils to help with healing and relaxation. Some simply smell the oils while others like to rub or massage them on the skin. Think about how uncomfortable you get when something smells bad? It only makes sense that when you are stressed or anxious and something smells pleasant you may begin to feel at ease. Lavender, chamomile, jasmine, and bergamot are great oils to promote relaxation.
